- FOR YOUR PET'S SAFETY, THE PAWPLEX INN REQUIRES THIS VACCINE. Leptospirosis is a disease caused by Leptospira bacteria, affecting both animals and humans. Although the leptospirosis vaccine is not a mandatory immunization for dogs, it is highly recommended for any dog that goes outside frequently, even if just to use the bathroom in the backyard.
- Small breed dogs and those living in urban environments may seem to have a lower risk, but they are actually among the most common patients diagnosed with leptospirosis in veterinary hospitals. It is important to understand that even if your dog is vaccinated, there is no 100% guarantee that they will not contract leptospirosis.
